The students from Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Ara Hou focus was around kaitiakitanga and the story of Māui fishing up the North Island as a way of looking at their whenua origins. Learning to create with digital technologies, the students chose stop motion animation to retell the story of Te ika a Māui.
