Principal Jenny Washington talks about how important it is to have leaders that are actively involved in change, and discusses the way this is happening at Roydvale School. She discusses the different support networks she has that she can draw on, as well as considering the influence of theory. There is a focus at Roydvale on staff engaging with biculturalism and Treaty of Waitangi obligations to develop their school tikanga, and Jenny reflects on a leader’s obligations in this process.
